I got certified through SSI (SCUBA Schools International) and my friend was certified through PADI. I have a string of 20 numbers and letters written under my name on my card, but she only has about half the numbers and letters. Is that because these are different companies? Is that whole string of numbers/letters my SCUBA number or just a certain string of it?

How much pressure can they exhurt? Can they cause damage? I was using some kitchen thongs to try and catch them underwater, but it did not work well, but my freind got a good laugh watching me try! Any ideas on catching the tasty creatures? Also, it is winter here now, about 42 degree water, what are there habits in the cold? Thank you. jim@xoffice.com

I just signed up for scuba classes at Underwater Sports here in Seattle, WA but am opting to do my final dives in the Bahamas in July.
Since I am not rich I’m wondering what scuba gear I should rent instead of buy, for a beginner.

Also - should your wetsuit fit snug or loose? I found an Oceanic brand 2 pc wetsuit on craigslist for $40 (in great condition) that’s for a female 100-120lbs & 5′-5′5″ tall, and I am 120lbs but almost 5.6.

What gear do I need for the Bahamas? Should I just rent there?

I have a friend who knows everything about everything. However, this time I think he has overstepped his boundries. He has assured me that it doesnot matter what type of SCUBA tank you are using that the maximum time is one hour. I think he has let his alligator mouth overload his hummingbird ass. What is it going to cost me to start SCUBA diving. What equipment should I buy, or which certifications should I get first and what will all this cost me?

i would like to purchase some vintage dual hose regulators and wetsuits and nobody at the scuba shops sells them. I’ve checked out the websites online too… does anyone have any they don’t need anymore? I will take them off your hands for free if in good working condition! ..

I have some fairly old scuba gear that I would like to sell or get rid of. I have a pair of women’s size 6 booties, gloves, vest w/regulator, knife and scabbard, fins, snorkle and mask. It hasn’t been used much but is fairly old. What would be a good asking price for these things?

I want to be a SCUBA-diving instructor,but I cant just go to a commercial dive school because my family would disown me if i didnt get my bachelors degree,and i guess i want to go to college anyways.Should i major in Marine Biology?,or are there any SCUBA specific majors out there?
